All
the events in our lives, both joyful and sorrowful, make us who we are,
help to shape our character and remind us that even in the greatest
tragedy we can take comfort from life as well. As is often the case, out
of tragedy is born some good.
When my brother passed away unexpectedly in late October of 1999, I felt compelled to honor his memory in a way to enable others, located across the country, to share their grief with other family and friends and as a way to not just acknowledge his passing but also to celebrate the wonderful contributions he made to so many peoples lives. In addition, with family and friends scattered across the country, I wanted a way for his friends to send anecdotes and stories that would someday be precious memories of their father to his children. To that end, I created my first memorial website to honor him. The feedback I received for this effort was tremendous! I was encouraged to expand on the original idea to include all kinds of events someone might wish to celebrate with others like weddings, new babies, graduation, promotions, vacations, new vocations or whatever one might feel is individually important. I hope you and your celebrants find a Life Celebrations Online webpage to be a different and fun way to recognize those special events in all our lives.
